The Top Development tutorial

Hello everyone,

welcome to my tutorial and devlog about  how I made my game and how I used various methods to improve my gameplay and make it easy for players to understand what's going on .

There are a variety of different aspects I focused on during the making of my game "The way if the viking" so let's start discussing them

GAMEPLAY

I really focused much on making my game interesting to players , using various methods such as adding different dialogues and cutscenes to make the player know the story well and get immersed into the gameplay, I also added some easy puzzles so that the player can focus on another aspect besides killing monsters, I also added lots of cool  effects to make it feel more magical and charming.

AUDIO

It's my first time focusing on audio so much as I added lots of sfx to almost everything such as : attacking , pressure plates , doors opening and closing , the player heart shattering , dropping a stone or a sword on the floor . Doing this helps in many ways ensuring that your game feels alive and that players know what's happening.

GRAPHICS

One of my focus aspects to focus on during the making of all my games, I usually like to make all assets by myself, which helps me ensure that all art has the same style and that all of them are matching and giving the vibe I want to give the player, I also focused on adding particles and effects to almost everything , for example : adding shattering effects to hear , flaming effect , explosion effect when enemies die, hit effect, and even snow particles and effect in the first cutscene to make it really frosty.

THEME

The main component that game jams focus on  , The theme , I really suggest that you stick to the theme closely and not make it loosely attached , for example , this theme was only one inventory slot so i only made one inventory slot , no more , no less
